The Ornis Polonica journal is published since 2010 and continues the former journal Notatki Ornitologiczne (1960-2009). Both these titles are published by the Ornithological Section of the Polish Zoological Society.

Ornis Polonica is published quarterly, in Polish with English abstracts. Papers can be also published in English depending on authors’ wish. The journal publishes original papers on the biology, ecology, migrations, numbers and distribution of Polish birds. It also publishes methodological papers, reviews, short communications, book reviews and reports. All submitted manuscripts are peer reviewed. The journal is indexed in Zoological Records, Wildlife Review and BIOSIS Previews.
