This report includes 199 records from 2025, as well as 15 earlier ones, concerning 73 species and subspecies. Three new species for Poland were recorded: the Sandhill Crane Antigone canadensis, Cetti’s Warbler Cettia cetti and Menetries’s Warbler Curruca mystacea. One new breeding species was recorded as well: the European Scops Owl Otus scops, whereas the Caspian Tern Hydroprogne caspia and Pygmy Cormorant Microcarbo pygmaeus bred for the second time. Other noteworthy records of the year were: the second records of the Pallas’s Grasshopper Warbler Helopsaltes certhiola and Dark-eyed Junco Junco hyemalis, the second and third records of the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper Calidris acuminata, the fourth and fifth records of the Scopoli’s Shearwater Calonectris diomedea, the fifth record of the Eleonora’s Falcon Falco eleonorae, the sixth records of the American Golden Plover Pluvialis dominica, Long-billed Dowitcher Limnodromus scolopaceus, Moustached Warbler Acrocephalus melanopogon and Siberian Stonechat Saxicola maurus, the eighth records of the Dalmatian Pelican Pelecanus crispus and Black-headed Bunting Emberiza melanocephala. Noteworthy are also the high numbers of the Glossy Ibis Plegadis falcinellus (17 records), Hume’s Warbler Phylloscopus humei (12), Sooty Shearwater Ardenna grisea (7), Olive-backed Pipit Anthus hodgsoni (6) and Black-winged Kite Elanus caeruleus (5). Following re-assessment, insufficiently documented record of the Balearic Shearwater Puffinus yelkouan mauretanicus has been removed from the national list (see Revisions). Present number of species on the Polish checklist is 475.
Records of each species are firstly presented regionally in alphabetic order of the voivodeships, afterwards chronologically; they contain: date, number of individuals, sex and age (if known), documentation if present (photo, audio, video, specimen, etc.), location, county, and in brackets names of up to three observers, further brief comments and references in some cases. The number codes following the species name mean: the first one – number of records slash number of individuals until 2024, the second one – number of records slash number of individuals in 2025; “ca” means approximate number of records or individuals, “n” instead of a number – unknown number of those. The report includes an appendix (annex) containing records not accepted, and a list of revisions, i.e. reconsidered records. The following terms and abbreviations are used: os. = individual/individuals, para/pary = pair/pairs, para lęgowa = breeding pair, para z gniazdem = pair with a nest, lęg = brood, lęg mieszany = mixed brood, karmiący = feeding, gniazdowanie pewne = confirmed breeding, schwytany = caught, martwy = dead, r.kal. = calendar year, lato = summer, zima = winter.
